Joe graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1969 with a BA degree in History.  Thereafter Joe attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California for 8 months where he studied German.

In 1970 Joe served two years in Germany as a translator in the US Army.

Thereafter Joe worked in the sales department with the Home Life of New York in Denver, Co.  In 1977 he took a position with Home Life in Newport Beach, Ca in the western home office where he trained new recruits in sales of estate planning.

By 1981 he realized that the commodity business is where he belonged.  He joined Merrill Lynch in April 1981 with Merrill Lynch Commodities Inc.

From 1981 to 1998 Joe worked with Merrill Lynch, Prudential Sec. Inc., Smith Barney and UBS as a commodity and stock broker in the Newport Beach California area. In the early 1980’s Joe received his Series 3, Series 7 and 65.   In 2000 Joe moved his business to Brookstreet Securities Inc. and worked more on an independent basis.  Joe has worked with Emerging Traders since 2008.
